Diagnostic lights can be found on the front of your fibre router. They show the status of various elements of your connection including whether your router is communicating with our network, whether a phone service is configured on your router, and the status of the WiFi.
To show these, you may need to press the button labelled "INFO"
This guide will tell you what these lights mean so that you may determine the cause of any issues you are experiencing.
INTERNET Light
This light shows the status of your connection's IP address.
If...
- INTERNET is flashing
This could indicate that your connection is attempting to get an IP address.
- INTERNET is off
This could indicate that your connection is unable to get an IP address, or has stopped attempting to get one.
- INTERNET is on
This indicates that your connection has an IP address.
PON LINK and PON AUTH Lights
These lights show the status of the router's connection back to the County Broadband network.
If...
- PON LINK and PON AUTH are flashing out of sync
This could indicate an issue with the connection between the fibre cable and the router.
- PON LINK and PON AUTH are flashing
This could indicate that your router is trying to communicate with our network but something is preventing this from working correctly.
- PON LINK and/or PON AUTH is off
This could indicate that your router is unable to communicate with our network.
- PON LINK and PON AUTH are both green
This indicates that your router is communicating with our network correctly.
WIFI 5G and WIFI 2.4G
These lights show the status of your router's 5GHz and 2.4GHz WiFi.
If...
- WIFI 5G and/or WIFI 2.4G is flashing
This could indicate that there is a problem with the specified WiFi.
- WIFI 5G and/or WIFI 2.4G is off
This indicates that the specified WiFi is disabled.
- WIFI 5G and/or WIFI 2.4G is on
This indicates that the specified WiFi is enabled and working correctly.
