Like with all electronic devices, it is healthy to power cycle your router and antenna every month or two.
This helps to clear out any unused data or old configurations and can help to ensure all functions of the equipment remain working correctly.
We always recommend a power cycle as the first action to take when you have identified an issue.
This guide will inform you on how to power cycle your equipment....
Router
- Navigate to your Wireless broadband router
- Remove the power cable from your router and leave this for 30 seconds
- Re-power the router and allow up to a further 2-3 minutes for the router to reconnect to our network
- If power cycling due to a broadband issue, check your broadband connection to see if this has been resolved
Antenna
- Navigate to your antenna's power supply. This should be a small black or white box with three cables connected to it, one of which goes outside
- Remove the power cable from this power supply and leave this for 30 seconds
- Re-power the router and allow up to a further 5 minutes for the antenna to reconnect to our network
- While you are waiting for the above, ensure all other cables plugged into the power supply are not loose or unplugged
- If power cycling due to a broadband issue, check your broadband connection to see if this has been resolved
