This "Advanced" guide explains some more complex configurations or actions that can be done via your fibre router's web interface.

Please note that incorrect use of these features could cause a risk to your network's security and/or prevent this from functioning correctly.

We advise that these features are only used by those who understand how to use them.

If you think you have configured something incorrectly and may have caused a security risk, please reset your router by locating the recessed reset button on the back of the router and using a pin to hold this in for around 20 seconds (or until you notice the router's lights change).

Access Router

1. Open a web browser such as Google Chrome
2. Navigate to 192.168.1.254
3. Log in with the following details

• Username: cbb
• Password: cbb

Configuring Port Forwards

1. Navigate to “Security” at the top of the page
2. Open the “Access” tab
3. Click “create rule” under “Port forwarding”
4. Beside “Service name”, either select a service from the drop down list or choose “Custom” and enter a name for this
5. Beside “Server IP address”, enter the IP address you would like to forward the port to
6. If applicable, enter a source IP address (this is recommended where possible for security purposes)
7. Set the external ports, protocol, and internal ports to those required

Opening Ports

1. Navigate to “Security” at the top of the page
2. Open the “Access” tab
3. Click “create rule” under “Port activation”
4. Beside “Application name”, either select a service from the drop down list or choose “Custom” and enter a name for this
5. Set the protocol and ports required for activation and forwarding

• Please note that opening ports may pose a security risk to your network

Setting static IP addresses

1. Navigate to “LAN” to the left of the page
2. Open the “Static leases” tab
3. Click the “add static lease” button
4. Set “Bridge” to “Default”
5. Enter the MAC address of the device you would like to assign a static IP to
6. Enter the IP address you would like to assign to the device

Changing DHCP Settings

1. Navigate to “LAN” to the left of the page
2. Open the “Characteristics” tab
3. Under “DHCP Server”, click “edit”
4. Alter the desired DHCP settings – for DNS details to be changed, please contact us

• Please note that changing the default gateway, mask, and IP range details could prevent your network from functioning correctly

Changing WiFi Security Settings

1. Navigate to “Wi-Fi” to the left of the page
2. Open the “Characteristics” tab
3. Click the “edit” button in the top right corner
4. Under “Primary network”, set Network authentication and Encryption mode to the desired protocols.

• Please note that changing the WiFi security settings could pose a security risk to your network

Guest WiFi

1. Navigate to “Wi-Fi” to the left of the page
2. Open the “Characteristics” tab
3. Click the “edit” button in the top right corner
4. Under “Guest network”, toggle the Enable network button.
5. You can then set the SSID, password, network authentication, encryption mode and password

Changing WiFi Channels

Choosing a frequency

1. Navigate to “Wi-Fi” to the left of the page
2. Open the “[2.4/5GHz] Neighbours” tab
3. Wait for the table of nearby devices to load
4. Determine which channel has the least nearby devices
5. Then open the “[2.4/5GHz] Neighbours” tab
6. Determine which channel has the least noise
   1. The closer to -100dBm the better
   2. There will be noise on the router’s current channel as this is created by your devices
7. Pick a channel with few nearby devices and low noise

Setting Channels

1. Navigate to “Wi-Fi” to the left of the page
2. Open the “Characteristics” tab
3. Click the “edit” button in the top right corner
4. Under “Primary network”, set the channel to the desired setting

• Please be aware that changing the channels may be detrimental to your WiFi connection’s speeds and availability. We advise you only do this is familiar with the best frequencies to use for your devices

Enabling Band Steering

1. Navigate to “Wi-Fi” to the left of the page
2. Open the “Characteristics” tab
3. Click the “edit” button in the top right corner
4. At the top of the page, toggle Band steering on

MAC Filtering – WiFi

1. Navigate to “Wi-Fi” to the left of the page
2. Open the “Security” tab
3. Click the “edit” button beside the frequency you would like to apply the filter to
4. Under “Primary GHz access control list mode”, choose the type of filtering you would like to enable
5. Disabled = no filtering, allowed = whitelist, denied = blacklist
6. To add a filter, click the “Add MAC filter” button under the frequency you would like to apply this to
7. Select the SSID you would like the filter applied to (main or guest WiFi)
8. Enter the MAC address you would like to set the rule for
